INTROVERT is a writing ritual :

undergoing it, means cutting oneself off from any kind of direct communication with others for a certain period of time in order to not discuss about a 'thing' but meditate on it through a writing-process : regardless to whether one is experienced or not in writing.

To assure a detached connection between the INTROVERT person and the public, the communication is in-directed following strict rules. The idea is to produce one or more sheets of paper per day : once a day one or more page/s get faxed to a person who acts as censor. The censor decides what of the 'written stuff' is worthwhile to fax further to the theatre or museum :

An fax-installation invites the visitor to read, meditate and/or react by faxing back to the censor.

The INTROVERT person has no glue about the development of the ingested material and will complete the ritual by visiting the theatre or museum, having left isolation after the time agreed on.

INTROVERT was for the first time performed as radical_hope's closing chapter at APT.

During an one week retreat, dwelling in isolation, refusing direct communication and negotiation with others, radical_hope wanted to overcome the pure documentary surface of the researched practice and transform it during a writing process. It was an attempt to articulate the personal experience behind the facts as well as observing how experience calls for 'stories'.

It was a consistent presentation of the mass of social interactions which pullulated in the research on "Cultural Change".

For this first INTROVERT was collaborating with VERLEGT VERLAG.
