CHANGING TENTS @ Burning Ice Festival 4
(see announced 'Collapses' in the Changing Agenda)
collapse / NOT THE END is a one week ‘lingering collapse’ conceived and performed as SMALL DAILY COLLAPSES during the week of the festival (see Changing Agenda), culminating in the choreography LEAVE on Sunday 23 January, between 13:00 and 15:00.
The ‘lingering collapse’ is a form of friction and decay, integrated into the festival. It’s a series of SMALL DAILY COLLAPSES, little shocks and errors that will test our resilience and that will be executed in a playful manner – a scherzo. LEAVE, the closing choreography on Sunday deals with different notions of ‘leaving’: going away, exiting, evacuating, issuing, escaping, disappearing, moving on. During the week all inhabitants as well as visitors of Changing Tents are asked to tell – as if they’re looking back to the past – how a colony once situated on the Quai des Péniches, disappeared. On a basis of these ‘memories’ the individual trajectories for LEAVE will be noted and collectively per- formed.
