It gives visibility to the continues working of radical_hope, its current move to radical_house, the research project Distraction As Discipline (2016 - 2019) and the process of OTΗOE - works for passers-by, a working trajectory (2013 and 2014).
radical_house is a long term project and has a threefold nature: it presents a physical place, a framework and a logic. When in 2013 teaching and mentoring became an extension of Langsdorf's artistic practices now radical_house stems from her pedagogical experience where 'being in dialogue' with others is her main principle.
Distraction As Discipline is
an investigation into enactivist principles in art and education
(research trajectory at KASK School
of Arts Ghent 2016-19). It considers the potential of performance art and
pedagogy in general, in resisting the current and massive
desubjectivation, by critically reclaiming both, attention for the moment and participation in a process.
OTΗOE - works for passers-by was the development of radical_hope's artistic practice in the city and questioned how and by whom this practice (and its bodily, social and economical aspects) is perceived. The title refers to the public of a city and to how we encounter and register most things on our way through the city: Out of The Corner of Our Eyes. OTΗOE.

HOW TO DEAL WITH REAL DILEMMA?

In this co-learn day we invite you on a walk in the woods, where we will follow the path between the devil and the deep blue sea. This day we'll experiment with dilemma dialogues while walking. With a simple score for walking in the woods we will explore how we handle a dilemma in several conditions: while being on our own, being with a couple of people and being with an entire group. We will look at the underlying values and principles that inform our decisions and explore different alternatives. We aim to all end up under a big tree and take some well-informed decisions.
This day is part of a larger trajectory within SPIN in which we experiment with different modes of co-learning. In 2017 we organised two days of co-learning to explore different ways that groups collectively develop & sustain action-ideas. In November 2018 we organized a co-learning day around the question: how to develop better practices in taking decisions as a group? And there is more to come in the future

In this co-learning day we will map some of the tried and tested methods for collective decision making. We kindly invite you to participate in an Open Space meeting about the following question: how to develop better practices in taking decisions as a group?
To this end, we are holding a preliminary Open Space Technology that allows the already present knowledge and experience in the room to surface and circulate freely, in an at once radically open and contained way. The technology is a self-organising method that was developed in the eighties by Harrison Owen when he discovered that most meaningful conversations happen at the coffee table - and not the actual meetings themselves. Turning the meeting inside out, he developed an impersonal frame ('technology') that welcomes energy and commitment and unwelcomes control.

Some context: Horizontal artistic and activist collaborations often rely on spontaneity, openness and fluidity. But whereas these groups excel in creating a free-floating exchange of ideas, the transition from reflection to action, from divergence to convergence, from opening up to a narrowing down often proves to be challenging. How can we take all the different stakeholders, force fields, interests and voices into account if we want to make informed and joint decisions? What kind of decisions could any medium to large sized group - collaborations, collectives, organisations, etc. - face? And is there an 'art of decision making' that could guide these often unruly processes?
