ABOUT THIS SITE >>> This site is a blog as well as an archive. It gives visibility to the continues working of radical_hope, its current move to radical_house, the research project Distraction As Discipline (2016 - 2019) and the process of OTÇOE - works for passers-by, a working trajectory (2013 and 2014).

radical_house is a long term project and has a threefold nature: it presents a physical place, a framework and a logic. When in 2013 teaching and mentoring became an extension of Langsdorf's artistic practices now radical_house stems from her pedagogical experience where 'being in dialogue' with others is her main principle.

Distraction As Discipline is an investigation into enactivist principles in art and education (research trajectory at KASK School of Arts Ghent 2016-19). It considers the potential of performance art and pedagogy in general, in resisting the current and massive desubjectivation, by critically reclaiming both, attention for the moment and participation in a process.

OTÇOE - works for passers-by was the development of radical_hope's artistic practice in the city and questioned how and by whom this practice (and its bodily, social and economical aspects) is perceived. The title refers to the public of a city and to how we encounter and register most things on our way through the city: Out of The Corner of Our Eyes. OTÇOE.

Alternative September Declaration - SotA for Hart Boven Hard

28-09-2015 [• economy • making images • transition ]

"Again, I don’t make a difference between ‘life practice’ and ‘artistic practice'.
(...) For me practice is not a form or a specific activity. I am reading Ken Mc Leod's book 'Wake up to your life' these days and here he says: quote: "It’s a way of living through which we accumulate momentum in attention.” And here’s another quote: "All that is present is moment to moment knowing.” So the question is: how can you become more and more present? And this is actually what I always try to practice, also when I’m working artistically."
[Renée Copraij, OTÇOE conversation 2013]

Last year Hart Boven Hard handed over its Alternative September Declaration to the Flemish minister-president Geert Bourgeois. One year later Hart Boven Hard would like to remind the Flemish government that there is still an alternative to austerity.

On the 28th of September Hart Boven Hard and many other organizations and individuals are gathering at Colonne de Congès, 2 rue de Congrès, at 13h. From there they will walk to the Flemish parliament for a symbolic action of handing over again the Alternative September Declaration. The action will involve various giants from different concerned groups. SOTA will join this action with the giant sent by the group of artists, culture and media: a huge INFLATABLE SPEECHLESS BUBBLE.

How can you help and join the action?

1. We are still searching for 1200 euro support in order to cover all the costs for making the INFLATABLE GIANT.
Please send a small contribution to BE91651138358176 radical_hope / Keytrade Bank (reference: INFLATABLE GIANT).

2. If you can make yourself available, please help us prepare the giant:
- September 28th, 10h at WTC 25: we will fill the inflatable with helium!
- then we will carry it together at 12:00 to the Colonne de Congrès at 2 rue du Congrès, 13h.
It would be great to be in big group!!!

3. Please join us for this action and accompany this giant for a walk to the Flemish Parliament. We meet Colonne de Congrès at 2 rue du Congrès at 13h. The action will be finsihed by 14h.

4. On the 28th September in the evening there will be a gathering in the Monty antwerpen for marking one year for HBH. Dirk elst will perform a keynote, inspired by "for two dollars more" (kunstenfestival)
You are all invited to take part in that interactive performance.
